Budget Session LIVE I Nirmala Sitharaman Moves Finance Bill In Parliament I Parliament LIVE

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to present the Finance Bill for the 2024-2025 fiscal year in the Lok Sabha. The bill must be approved by both houses of Parliament to become law. The Lok Sabha has already passed the Appropriation (No.2) Bill, 2024, which authorizes nearly ₹140 lakh crore for central government expenditure. The budget includes an increase in the Standard Deduction to ₹75,000, adjustments to new tax regime slabs, and a rise in securities transactions tax.
