This is when people used to nail through sheet metal

I reckon this is prolly meant to help nail thru harder materials than timber. Someone else stated sheet metal nailing back in the day, that sounds about right. I know when they use to nail the inside of certain boats/ships, this helped keep a straight nail on a rounded surface, or at least a tool very similar to this. Either way, prolly a pretty niche tool regardless. But also very neat!

Keeps it square, and helps a lot in harder materials like sheet metal and ironwoods

I need to bring this to the home depot kids workshop to keep my son from destroying my fingers when I hold the nail

I don’t care what the comments say I like it wish I had one. Been working construction my whole life & between the arthritis, essential tremors, & vision I could drive a nail where I want it.👍

Basically, the main purpose of this 10in1 tool is to save you money if you don’t want to buy a ram set to drive a handful nails in the concrete. It also works with very thin plate steel. Most of the other nine functions, such as the screw driver, are quite terrible with this tool. I’m glad they showed restraint and didn’t try to cram a bottle opener in it.

My thumb will appreciate it if I added this tool to my inventory 😂

I'll still miss it 3 times in a row.

This isn't just a cheap chinese junkdrawer tool. I mean, this iteration is. But, this is based off of a brad nailer from a long time ago. It allowed the user to smack brads into trim without the brad folding over and damaging the wood, when you smacked into a knot or whatever. Also worked for flooring. But most folks invested in bulk nailers when they became available around the turn of the 20th century.

This tool is for driving pins into concrete I believe, and it is very useful even today. Prevents you from hammering tf out of your fingers.

This is a multi-tool invented by a Korean. I've been using it for years, and it's one of my best tools. I highly recommend it.

Some of us sheet metal workers still use these for flashing. Can’t use a screw for everything 😉

I could of used this when i started roofing nailing through stainless steel. All the fingers took turns getting smashed by the hammer. Now I predrill the drip edge before nailing it.

It's like hammering with an extra step.
