The parts that were great & i thought I/we were happy, was because the narc was at a moment that he was getting everything he wanted & because of that he was pleased with the way things were going for him & that made him happy.not because he cared if i was happy .

In the beginning I noticed deception, hot then cold, and lying. They are shallow, insecure, and a fragile egg shell. The fantasy is the love bombing which doesn’t last long, then comes the abuse.

What still confuses me is that in her rage when I pressed for answers she insisted adamantly that she wasn't using me the whole time because she wasn't planning on dropping me the way she did, but also at the same time that she didn't really care about me. I can accept that she was using me the whole time, what I can't accept is her insistance that it was "just a misunderstanding", that "no one's to blame" and "we just had different intentions".

Damn that is very hard to accept…..but when you really analyze and put things into perspective all the years you have been with a narcissist, their behavior, the constant lying, and the rough times it all makes sense now…..only option left for their partners is to leave the narcissist asap, take your life back and move forward to better things……after all we know now about narcissists…..life is too short to keep dealing with emotionally empty characters like them. ✊

The words they said to me (one of the last fights we had had) hurt so ..damn much.. there is no way I'd want them back in my life thereafter. They were super drunk per usual, out of the blue messaged me. I think someone upset them and they just decided to message me. One remark they took wrong unleashed their fury and for the next hour or so that night was about them tearing me down, nothing I could say to defend myself helped. They became someone I truly wanted nothing to do with anymore..and few days later, I walked away and never looked back. I still have screenshots of the incident and those that have read it believed he was very much in the wrong for it all. And yet there is still that thread of me that misses what "was".

This dude cursed me out through the phone in front of my daughter. I wasted 15 years feeling sorry for him. Everything he said to me was real. The girlfriend he's been seeing while he was sleeping on my bed was real.
