Finding Strength in Community - Mdm Peggy Lim's Story

Peggy Lim, a 62-year-old diagnosed with stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer in April 2020, found strength in an unexpected place: the Lung Cancer Education and Advocacy Programme (LEAP) support groups. Amid her own cancer journey, Peggy connected with other patients who shared her struggles, offering each other encouragement and hope. Feeling blessed by this sense of community, Peggy chose to give back as a volunteer, dedicating herself to helping others find strength through shared experiences and positive connections.

As a patient advocate, she led walks, motivated others to stay active, and offered support to those just beginning their own cancer journeys. Peggy’s story reflects resilience, compassion, and the lasting impact of a supportive community in the face of life’s greatest challenges.
