I retired from the USPS and I will say it's one of the greatest places to you do your job and respect the customers.

Dude you totally nailed it everything, the blisters, the socks, the shoes, the training, the academy, the water, the don’t let the managers rush you, the take your 30 minute lunch, the use your mirrors, the uniforms and lack of them, dogs, Sundays, Amazon….etc
I went through it 2 years ago in California - coming back to the station near the end of the day to see two carts waiting for me, a few go backs, managers calling me, asking how much longer, had to pee a few times when there was no gas stations nearby or restaurants causing me to get further behind or pee my pants so I got further behind. The day one of the managers showed up, hot sweaty day, working hard as I did every day moving swiftly, walking through yards when possible instead of the sidewalks, flats sliding out of my grip had to pick ‘em up but anyway the day that dude came out, with a stopwatch, kneeling in the street timing me then commenting every 3 or 4 houses - never with a mean tone of voice but pointing out ways for me to be faster, some of it helpful but still presented to me in a “not good enough” way - I made it 6 weeks - the day I was timed and went back to the station at dark to see another cart waiting for me - I walked in, found the Union steward, went up to him and said I’m done bro. We talked about it for 10 minutes or so then we went to the on duty supervisor and told her - she offered my a lengthier training period and I just basically said no thank you, I appreciate it but I’m done. That was it, I was finished.
I’m 61 right now. I know I could have made it through if I continued but after being a hard working electrician for 32 years, construction worker years before that, I just didn’t want to stick it out so I quit

I applied and the next week I got the Job offer. The week after that orientation. Did the Shadow day yesterday, it was actually awesome. Academy for me is in a week, the class was filled for this week.

So proud of you, my man. You aren't lying about the feet. I've never carried mail, but decades ago when I was in the military, they taught us in basic training that the two most important things to learn early on are to take care of your feet and your gun, as your life depends on both of those working well.

Great gig and killer benefits you're working on there, and I'm damned proud of you!!

That's the shit right there bro, a man doing what he has to, to meet the responsibilitys we all have, not just sitting on unemployment and complaining about how shit there life is, you definitely have my respect brother, mad respect from Sydney Australia, salute

I start at the post office on Monday (orientation) so I'm learning a lot beforehand! Thank you for this!

Great video. Do you have to find public restrooms out in the field? I'm wondering how I can take a night course and still work this shift. I should have orientation coming soon.

Damn good job with your weight loss man. Great advice on staying properly hydrated. There are lots of people and things that dogs don’t like. I was in India for a family wedding Jan 2013. We were doing some sight seeing when I saw one of the many stray dogs sleeping peacefully while people on foot were walking all around him. Someone rode by on a motorcycle and he woke up and gave chase.

VERY interesting! I never thought a reptile channel would give this random insight towards the daily life of a postal worker. Unironically interesting!

Try adding liquid IV or redmond re-lyte to your water. You need more than just water and gatorade doesnt give you the electrolytes you need. 👍
