I am an animator and I need to download videos in order to watch them frame by frame to study movement for my animations. Normal video playing is not good to understand some movements (unless it is in slow motion)

I work in student support and I'm trying to find a way to help students add offline videos (for example to PowerPoint presentations) without having to send them to dodgy sites like y2mate to rip them. Ideally, the links would be embedded into the presentations but depending on where you are on campus, the internet connection isn't always great. It wouldn't be fair for students to lose marks due to a bad connection. Surely a one-off presentation is covered by fair usage for educational purposes, and naturally, the student would be referencing any videos used. I appreciate this kind of thing is hard to police, but I don't want any of our students to break the law! Any tips are welcome!

Strange when I used to work on cruise ships for months I had some app that added download to youtube videos when I watched them and I would pick the ones I wanted to store them in my computer so I could watch them while on the ship for months. I am a drummer so I would download drumming videos to entertain myself. The app was just in the app store so I am assuming the rules have changed since then.

If allowed to legally download videos from u tube without going in for the premium version it would be very nice and convenient. For personal use only. As a reference of different techniques and methods.
I watch do it yourself ( like build it etc ) videos in which requires some concentration. Moreover materials required may not be easily available in my region.
Although DVDs could be purchased, I could also, later find a more suitable video on the same subject.
It would be quite costly having several videos on the same topic.
It's not easy to quickly judge which version will contain the details I need.
I respect the wishes of the uploader and do not copy the content to other media, even if it is possible to do so.

Great info thank you! I'm starting a youtube and just want to add short 3 sec clips from movie clips to emphasize my point in a more humorous manner. The sites you listed are more "stock footage" sites. Before I decide to purchase Premium, does YT allow to download short movie clips? Or how would you suggest this without breaking copyright laws?
