Okay, to be fair to Rainbolt this time, I would have guessed Brasil as well because I live here, and this pavement is very iconic, but the fact that he got the *exact* city and in a very close ballpark is still insane. I lived in that city and I don't think I could have gotten that good of a guess.

That pattern represents the mixing of waters where the Solimões river and the Negro river meet, combining to create the Amazon river. It's most used in Manaus, Salvador, Rio, and São Paulo, though I wouldn't be surprised if it shows in other cities as well. The weather and terrain really isn't right for any of these other than Salvador. São Paulo had a lot of these removed because maintaining this kind of "Portuguese tiling" is a logistical and financial nightmare.
