I learned to develop the growth mindset several years ago when I made the decision to drop out of high school. Once I finally turned 18 so I could legally drop out instead of being depressed and staying in bed all day I decided to learn programming myself something I've always been interested in. I've used Google and YouTube to learn how to do this all, started writing my own sites and projects; now I managed to get myself full time opportunities as a software engineer without any form of degree at all and have a game that's soon to be released on Steam. I've faced many hardships and learned from them. Failure doesn't exist, only lessons do.

I have a very fixed mindset. I feel like I am not smart enough to go to college and graduate. I am studying something right now, but I don't like it all. I don't know if that's because I am too fucking lazy to finish anything in my life and because I have no discipline whatsoever, or because it is genuinely not the right study for me. I feel like I am never going to achieve anything, I'm scared of everything. I do have dreams, but I don't know how people just go out and do it???? That seriously baffles me. I have to consider and reconsider every tiny fucking step I take like a thousand times. I feel stuck and I'm so scared of what my future is going to look like tbh lol

I can do it! it's not to late to start. My mind is fixed about the negativities surrounds me. But it's time to accept it. It might be difficult but I hope, I will overcome it!!!
Thanks for this video.

I really needed this video. It is hard sometimes not to have a fixed mindset, especially if you did well at school. Now I'm at college and it has been quite hard. I did quite well except for a final exam I failed twice, but hopefully I'm learning that it is not the end of the world :) I hope that later in life as a teacher, I'll teach this to my students

Hey everyone, thanks for all the positive comments on this video and addressing the question whether you think you have a growth or fixed mindset. The truth is we struggle with both depending on the tasks at hands or the goals desired. We're hoping to create a follow up video that goes into how to find your "WHYS" and "How to Find Peace" with what we do. Contentment, joy and fulfillment in whatever we are pursuing in life whether we are stuck in a rut, not doing anything, or whether we are on our way, but finding the change uncomfortable. Let us know if you would like a video on that. It might be a collaboration with another channel! If you can help us share this video get it to 100K views, we will definitely make that happen! Just let us know through email that you did! :)

Seriously I just had a full on freak out because I don't know what to do with my life and what I should study in Uni, because I don't know what I wanna do for the rest of my life and I don't think I'm actually good enough to do what I really want to do. So I thought my life is basically senseless and whoooosh you guys release a new video like that...
Life's creepy sometimes

So I guess I also wanna say thank you

ever since i failed my first class 2 years ago. I felt like complete trash. I felt that if I couldnt finish this class with at least a C that I couldnt go on with uni. And it has been bugging me since. I do have the fixed mindset where i constantly tell myself there is no future for me for not being able to pass my classes. Since then, I have been struggling keeping that fear of failing in the badk of my mind and it is driving me crazy everyday. This semester sin't looking so hot and if i dont pass. my graduate class will seem nigh imposssible then...thnx for helping psych2go. ill try my best to change to the fluid mindset than this stone mindset...

In our school, we had this 'Midweek Mindset'. During the announcements, our principal gives us some tips and challenges us to do a certain thing that involves having a growth mindset. I think I have a growth mindset because I barely compare myself to others. Instead of being jealous about their success, I would always be happy about them and even ask them some tips on how to become successful. Anyways, I love your videos because it helps me learn about psychology even though I am still a middle-schooler. Have a good day! (:

when I was younger I had a fixed mindset. Now I have a very growth mindset, although my anxiety can make it temporarily back to fixed for a few minutes / hours. But in general, I have a very growth mindset and want to learn as much as possible.

Right now i'm struggling, dont know where i am going with life (things didnt came as expected) but i do realize that so far i've been very negative and thats something pushing me backwards.i still feel anxious but i'm taking the advice from some close people that i need to learn how to deal with failure, work to show my potential and not overthink, because i am too young and surely will have more problems in the future, when i become an adult. Thanks for the video, very helpful 😘.

I... think I've been training to have a growth mindset without even realising it. Now that I know how it's called, maybe acquiring that mindset will go even faster ^^

Mind growing is my goal in life, you've just given me the the label for what I was doing.
Thank you for the encouraging words in your video.
I think that one major step in one's life is the realization of the human condition and how each one of us is extremely free to make choices and to deal with the consequences.
