Figure of 8 wrap direction wrong on tops. Needs to wrap towards the bike as natural tendency is for rider to twist down when on tops so you’d want to tighten not loosen the wrap.

I wrap top to bottom, don’t have to deal with finishing tape that way. Never had an issue with it.

Yesterday i did figure 8 on my cheap bar tape and it was awesome looking😌✨️

I INTENTIONALLY overwrap the intersection, creating 'climbing handles', as it is more comfortable, and allows more power transfer when 'in the hoods'. Differing priorities. To each their own.

What is the difference between standard and continuous?

Figure of eight makes your wrap change sides, so if you have a different patent on the top and bottom it will be visible.

Also the wrap can't not interfere with the hood covers. The have a machting grooves

I've used standard wrap before. Now I'm more of a fan of figure8, doesn't feel any different to me. I also don't like using bartape with adhesive.

The first one is not good for the top since your hands tend to move to the opposite direction hence diminishing the life of the tape due to hand pressure.
