Ben bishop would be a perfect addition to the team until Wilm can make his NHL debut. He is performing really well over on Edmonton and I think he can translate that progress over on Seattle. (Unless EA voodoo says otherwise). Great job Data! Looking forward to more videos coming during the next couple weeks.

Great video as always, loving the series. There's a few suggestions I have and there all about players that are on the block...

First player is Weegar who I talked about in the last video. He is a very underrated top 4 defensive defenseman. He will help the goaltending out as well. This also goes for K'andre Miller (without taking Krieder).

2nd player is Thomas Tatar. Yes the offense had been fine, but he is a good piece to add. His trade value is very low and we have to cap space to get it done. He's on a one year deal so he would be a rental of course.

3rd player is Jeremy Swayman. He is imo an upgrade over Gus and Subban. He had 7 wins in 11 games, sv% wasnt terrible, and neither was the GAA. I think he's a very solid goalie and if we do look to upgrade on that end, Swayman is the guy. I was thinking about Ned, but it wouldnt make sense because Wilm will be making the NHL roster soon. Another goalie to take note of is Bishop for the same reason as Swayman.

That's just about it for me, but I'd like to say one more thing. Alot of people say to not get Miller from the NYR because it's unrealistic, but franchise mode is all about having fun and making it your own. I say forget if it's unrealistic or not, he's on the block for a reason. Can't wait for the TDL. Thanks for the vids!! GO KRAKEN!!

If we're talking purely bridge-type goalies, I agree with you, I think Bishop is the guy, especially with the noted storyline possibilities. I agree with Grievous though. We need to fix chemistry somehow, especially on defense and our bottom six. That should help whoever we have in net whether it's Bishop, Andersen, Subban, Gus, or the ghost of "Hap" Holmes.

Spoilers after "Read More"

I won't be upset if you give Bishop a crack, but I think now is the time to pull the trigger on Payton on the main squad. Those AHL numbers are absurd, and it will likely help his growth.

Fingers crossed for the second half

Loving it. Suggestions are as follows:
Forwards- CHEM! Data, you have spent way too long teaching us about line chemistry to have barely any yourself. I think that trading for a forward who can skyrocket chem on the first or second line would be imperative, and that forward would preferably be a winger. The possible trade guys could be middle six wingers or you could use valuable picks that currently wouldn’t yield any prospects of note.
Defense: Again, chemistry. The guys have not been awful enough to warrant a trade, but a stud who is 88+ would really be a force for the back end that needs it desperately to become top tier. If a draftee is available with elite potential, do what must be done to move up.
Goal: An entrenched future starter in Wilm, no need to move Subban or “Bus the Gus”.
Good luck!
Edit: made this halfway through the video

Giordano's chemistry rating for the team grew not just because of Donskoi, but because you moved your Defense to get those +3 & +2. Remember, that chemistry is based on the players in the positions you have them, not just the players as a whole. Giordano really likes Oleksiak on the top pair, it seems for example.

Trade Suggestions: (As long as they fit chemistry, its bad right now, so only make moves that are going to help it)
Tyler Johnson (CHI): May be a guy to jumpstart a third or fourth line, its the last year of his deal so you don't have to worry about next years cap, plus he doesn't appear to have to much trade value so you probably don't need to send much for him

Jordan Eberle (NYI): Prefer Johnson to him bc Johnson has the flexibility of center or wing, but his reasons are the same as Johnson, low trade value, decent overall, expiring contract, you should really go for only one of Eberle or Johnson (whoever fits chemistry better), send back Kaut or or one of your fourth-liners in a potential deal

Jeremy Swayman (BOS), he's cheap, does not have much trade value a good starter for the next year when (hopefully) Wilm should be backing him up, after that you can decide how long you want to keep him based on what he's asking and Wilm's growth, and you need Goaltending BAD if you want to take a good shot at the playoffs (subban or Gus the Bus probably going the other way)

Deadline Notes:
I'd stay away from Bishop, he's doing well this year, and the storyline would be great, but he's 37 and got another year at just over 3 million on his deal, and he will only add to the logjam of middling starters/good backups you already have, Swayman is younger, better, cheaper, and won't decline at the end of the year

I'd also stay away from getting any multi year deals at the deadline (besides Swayman), you gotta let your young guys show you what they got, rentals like Johnson and Eberle are the way to go this year, if you go deep in the playoffs that a plus, but if you don't you aren't tied down to anybody term wise and the young guys have the potential to be called up if they are good enough

With the young guys it is important to know what their role is listed as, putting them too high or too low can affect their development

Extensions:
Idk what Bean is asking for extension wise now, but the 4.775 for 5 years is a great contract considering his production and age, he's had an ok year this year, but it's more due to a lack of chemistry than anything else, he's cheaper than Oleksiak at that cap hit, and a better defenseman

just as you showed restraint in ep #9, please let the team grow organically and show some here. as for the coach, 2 playoff appearances in 2 seasons w/young team is darn good. a good coach is hard to find (how soon we 4get about episode #9 and #10 of the wild franchise)

i say make small moves and wait until the off-season to re-evaluate. <3 the vids!! keep going

let's get krakenlacking

If I was the gm, I would 100% trade for a goalie. Subban is capable to start but is he really capable to start an entire season? If you trade for a goalie and the team still does bad, fire the coach. I think the coach is on the hot seat
