Starmer jokes about Farage's 'rare appearance' in UK during PMQs

Sir Keir Starmer joked during PMQs that he was expecting to see Nigel Farage included in the USA's immigration statistics.

Starmer is set to trigger a race to become Britain’s ambassador to the United States with a decision likely in the next few days.

Dame Karen Pierce, the current ambassador to the United States, is due to complete her posting in January, helping to oversee the transition into a second Donald Trump term in the White House.

She was widely credited with improving relations between Starmer and Trump, setting up two phone calls and a dinner in Trump Tower.
