I would try this out but I often find it hard to fall back asleep after I have woken up. I'll have to keep this in mind the next time I'm feeling quite sleepy though after a wake up!

You can actually wake up at 6 am sleep then at 7 wake up and then at 8 try to remember if you had a dream. I usually have a lot if dreams using this technique i made and even lucid without trying.

My issue is that whenever I try to think about becoming lucid in a dream, I struggle to have that as the last thing I think about because it ends up causing horrible insomnia for me :/ My mind gets so focused it won't let me fall asleep but if I try to relax, I end up drifting off in some weird daydream themed thoughts.
My biggest success has been reality checks and mindfulness throughout my day to then become aware in a dream.
I wish I could find a technique or something to enter a lucid state whilst my body is the only thing to fall asleep but how do I work on that when my brain won't shut up?

Another thing I've noticed is that I can get my body super relaxed, I won't need to move or anything even if my mind is still going but I always get to this strange point when my body starts being in pain from not moving and it then forces me to move because it gets unbearable. Any advice?

I had a lucid dream but I didn't get to do anything my body got paralyzed In my dream making it impossible to do anything even saying I'm dreaming was impossible. I have never had a true lucid dream before and its like my body has been keeping me from lucid dreaming as much as possible my entire life😔

hm. i dont know why it hasnt occurred to me before now, but im curious. i can already use prospective memory to set an intention to wake up at 4am for wbtb's, but would i be able to instead set that intention to simply pay attention to my dream, as what youre saying here, but across those five odd hours?
