NO DIG - NO RIDE *A Trail Builder's Perspective* PART 2

After recent comments on certain vids we decided to head up to Doncaster to interview some top trail builders. I wanted to get their side of the story on folk riding who don't dig.
PLEASE NOTE
Any unofficial trails we ride will not be named, we shall try and hide entrance and exit points if they are give-aways to the landowners or forestry and our Strava shall remain private. We know a lot of you may want to know where these trails are, but we don't want to be responsible for any trail destruction by the land owners!

I just pay Dan Atherton 43 quid and he lets me ride his tracks and gives me a lift to the top. No moods or secrets in sight.

Do agree it's a bit naughty when the vlog farmers go round the spots one after another. You'll see it with other things on YouTube, like the urban explorers, each channel is watching what another does and copies it a week later all hoping you don't notice and only follow their channel so it looks like original content.
Coming from BMX the rules are clearer, it's our spot, you are or aren't welcome and respect our patch. Non of these places make themselves, and when legality is sketchy just the fact that someone else comes littering or verbally abusing a passer by could cost the builder all their hard work. Me personally, these lads jumps are out of my league currently but if I was closer I'd jump to dig with them because like the lads said being around something more and more and having that familiarity, seeing others ride it well, it's all really confidence building compared to turning up on your own and just being overwhelmed and letting your lack of confidence take charge.
Just keep up the fine fight!

Got a small local dig at the minute, it's tiny really, probably ride through it in a minute, 2 berms and a table, took out 4 bags of rubbish I found in the process so far. It's just a little section to spice up my local ride
It's quite addictive

The arguments are fair but rely on fair play or reciprocity which doesn't hold into what appears to be where we are moving.

On public land with more people getting involved everything's getting smaller and less community based.

There are some localish jumps like their work near me and it is considered invite, I also think they have worked with the landowners to make it more of an official place so they are justified in having a bit more control.

Public though, just gotta bite the bullet in the lack of control.
