Colors evoke emotion because of environmental association, not because these colors inherently do so.

Purple is rare in nature, so we perceive it as expensive or royal.

Sky is blue during the daytime. We can't see at night, which causes anxiety. Daytime relieves that anxiety. So Blue is calming.

Trees, plants, and grass are green, so green is perceived as vitality.

Blood and Fire are red, so red evokes stronger emotional response.

Yellow represents Gold. Gold represents many positive things in many cultures because gold is valuable. People who have gold are perceived as intelligent and powerful.

If blood was blue and the sky red, we would have different emotional responses to these colors. If purple was common, it would no longer be perceived as "royal."

A great example is China associates death with white and America associates death with black. So, residents' emotional response to these colors in certain contexts is completely different.
