I had a problem where my AirPods PRO started doing weird noises, crackling and sound like a broken bass. No matter what I did I couldn’t fix them but after watching this video I actually threw them in water with soap, wiped them dry then used this method to eject water. They work like new ones now! Thanks.

For everyone not finding the untrusted shortcuts option, enable the option “allow scripts” and you should be fine. I added it to my shortcut list, disabled “auto-detect” on the airpods (So you don’t have to cover up the sensor with the finger) and ran the shortcut. Mine had a muffled sound and they work fine now. Make sure to dry them well too. Good luck!

Instead of holding the airpods, you can deselect dected ears option.

I accidentally washed one of my Airpod Pros in the washing machine, made the mistake of charging it, and attempting to use it before it dried completely. It kept making a high-pitched wincing noise when I tried to turn it on. I used this method as well as playing a bunch of “Water eject airpod noise” youtube videos in full volume through my Airpod and this actually fixed it. I thought I had no hope, so thank you so much!

I tried to download the water eject shortcut and it said that shortcuts couldn’t verify it. I enabled basically everything I could, anyone know what could be up?

this was my first time (and last time) taking them hiking. One fell out into a foot of creek water. I had no idea they were somewhat waterproof. This shortcut fixed the affected pod. Thanks a ton. I swim with my Apple Watch, I knew about the water eject on that, it's very nice to know about the AirPods solution too.

You shouldn’t throw the charging case into water.
