I can't wait for this. The 42 is one of my favorites, but the original 42 figure seemed a little too toyish. The best part is that if we're getting a new 42, we'll be getting a new 43 soon enough. With any luck, a new Iron Patriot (and War Machine Mk2) will be coming as well. The 45 could also use an upgrade.

Fair enough, to each their own. To me for a sixth scale sculpted head it looks phenomenal. There’s not a shred of doubt who that is.

It’s my favorite Iron Man movie and one of my favorite suits. This is the first Iron Man I’ve ever ordered and the head sculpt is dope. Love it!

This is my all time favorite Iron Man suit. I personally love the headsculpt and appreciate that it’s an actual headsculpt as opposed to an open faceplate on a helmet. I can’t wait for the new Mark 42 and am so happy I didn’t go backwards and pick up the og version

I’m really excited that they’re doing the Mark 42 again. That’s my favorite Iron Man suit. I really like the head scalp for the figure and I think I’m actually gonna display him with the Tony Stark head, but I don’t think it’s the best that they’ve done.

Apparently the only Iron Man they didn’t make bigger was the MK 1 2.0 which seems to be smaller and more accurate to RDJ’s height and there were all sorts of complaints he was too short. This figure looks amazing, love all of the battle damage and I actually like this head sculpture but I also don’t usually go for the battle damages head sculptures. I don’t have a MK 42 in my collection so this guy is very tempting. Great photos Ryan, thanks so much.

Might be a big ask but they should consider making a mark 45 2.0 from AOU

But this time use Phil Saunders render images for the locations of the extra missiles and rocket panels that werent used in the movies.

this suit almost looks like they took the mark 42 quarter scale and shrunk it down to 1/6th scale size, then they took the detail and turned it up to 11. At least for a 1/6th scale figure

That headsculpt with moving eyes could work for recreating the IM3 poster pose, and the battle damage+ pieces look sick!

I actually love the RDJ/Tony Stark HS. I also love different kinds of HS. The 1.0 was Hot Toys 1st Diecast Ironman. That’s when I got into the hobby 2014. Been the best medicine from getting out of the Army. Back when ClipperKing, Optical20 and Dean the Dream did reviews. Lol.

Thanks Ryan and you Justin for always bringing us these Videos! For me the Mk42 was 1 of my favorites. The original Hot Toys Mk42 was nice for the yr it came out, but I’m so ready for this upgrade. Don’t really care about the head sculpt I wish Hot Toys would’ve gave us a helmeted head sculpt with roller eyes, that would’ve been awesome.

The mk42 is one of my favorite armors. The butterfly joint on my original snapped off so I'm so happy to get a 2.0. I do think the non battle damaged parts are a little too scratched up so hopefully they make it just a bit cleaner

On the topic of that TS headsculpt - I do actually really like it, but... there **is** something off about it. I think it's a bit too puffy, full, whatever, like you mentioned. Can't quite pinpoint it... easier to compare once we have it in hand. I will likely use it on mine!
