I like the buttons on the wheel base. It’s not necessary, but a nice add-on. I had these on a Thrustmaster T150 when I first started sim racing. I would use the latching switch for ignition and one of the buttons as a start button.

I like the brevity of the review. I watch a number of channels so I can piece a lot of view points together. Your casual talk behind the wheel is informative enough for me. Thx.

I like that we are seeing more budget-friendly DD options. The problem is that it's still only Fanatec who are interested in getting their DD wheelbases and rims supported on console. I require PC and Playstation compatibility and so that means it's still only Fanatec with anything to offer.

Your honesty in your reviews is refreshing.

About the length of the review: For me it is the perfect length to get a good understanding of the product. I only watch reviews that are 30min+, if I have a serious intent of buying the reviewed gear. These shorter reviews are an enjoyable format to keep up with the tech development in simracing, without having to spend 1h per video.

Cammus has updated the wheel since this review and added worldwide distributors so you can save on shipping. Shipping inside usa from Colorado cost me $78.00. Cammus just released a F1 wheel if that interest you.

I use the buttons on the "base" of my T300 for the VR reset, so kinda handy.

I like this style of review, straight to the point and no need to come back for multiple videos like others do. If you pulled it apart I would expect a longer style video but is there really a need ro pull it apart? Maybe?

the negatives do kind of add up when it starts coming to the cheaper stuff but crucially its not such important stuff, the double shifts can happen when the magnets are not strong enough but a lot of that comes down to driver habits aswell, sometimes you can squeeze it and hold the shift too long it actuates the shift twice before snapping back, with stronger magnets the force required is such that its either pulled or its back in the original position, i was unhappy with cube controls wheels because of the magnet force, lots of double shifts for me but i did notice 50 percent of the issue was me. the play in the quick release is a big no no for me, the problem is once you know its there it becomes an irritation, sometimes you feel small clicks and stuff through the QR and are not sure if it was feedback or not, i HATED fanatec for this reason, its far worse with fanatec though as their current QR is really noisy aswell under heavy feedback just making it feel and sound worse, it certainly would be a reason i wouldn't buy the cammus though, poor button quality will always be poor quality but you will probably expect this at the price, if you have not dabbled in expensive wheels and such yet then its easy to get over... for sure the little things do add up though and it does look overall not on quite the same level as moza and simagic, not quite on the level of fanatec except that QR which i think fanatec should be hurrying to replace but they are sleeping on the QR2 for some reason.

its pretty good for the price, i think its quite clear the days of mid range belt wheels is over and only reserved for the super cheap now so that is great, still plenty of reasons to spend more money though, its clear quality is compromised when it gets too cheap in the DD chain.

Great video! Please, could you share with us your Cammus settings (power, effects ratio, damper, friction, inertia and idle spring)??

There are distributors in different regions to get cheaper shipping. Douglas Thompson is the US distributor.

Wrote it off when you mentioned the double shifts

Is it perhaps that since the devices are being shipped from China, that they include customs in the shipping? That would explain why the shipping is so expensive? Have you had to pay customs when you received the product?

Do you set your wheelbase force to 100% for all bases? (VRS/SC/DD1) then adjust down in game?

I feel like you compare this wheel too much to simcubes and other high end bases. After all cammus is 499$ base and cheapest simcube is 1200e. It would be better to compare it to fanatec csl dd or moza R9 which are in same price range.

I wonder if irFFB would improve the feel of this base in iRacing
