IS the Insta 360 ONE R 1 inch edition any good?

For doing action or sport scenes you have to use an 4k boost lens, even if you turn the camera 45 degrees, the scenes will be steady. 1 inch is for regular scenes just like your DSLR camera you had in your room and you can't use it for aggressive movements, it's good for vlogging. I remove a memory card and transfer 100Gb to my pc using a type C adapter it takes about 18 minutes, but using my laptop, it takes 6 minutes.

did you find a better alternative after all this time? I was looking for something low light with 10 bit color for vlogging probably not even action footage but it would be nice to have something versatile

I think you're using it wrong. For action shots you would use the twin module where it takes 360 footages and has absolutely amazing image stabilization. The 1 inch module is for vlogging and / or still shots. It's not supposed to be used in an action cam scenario.

Absolutely agree. At the beginning i was really fan of this camera because my opinion was based on marketing messages, paid reviews and new fresh modular idea. But as I started to use it was plain pain it the butt. I can add that you can not use it for close captions, screen is irresponsible, you cannot put camera in the case with the lens guard, screen touch lock unlocks itself underwater. My camera died last week and i am really not in a mood to buy a new ista360 ace pro as i don't trust paid reviews some people already complained about camera doors easily to pop up.

Try BACK-BONE C mount adaptor, it will try your 1R into Super 16 Retro machine.
