I still don't get the idea of a unique board game like this unless you play with a lot of people who have all bought it, otherwise what does it matter? I doubt many people will buy multiple copies themselves. Its like, if my copy of Carcassonne has more city tiles than another, it doesn't matter at all unless I then play a second copy of Carcassonne.

The Unique aspect seems to me to clearly work better in card games, at least at the conceptual level, since you can put them at lower price points so it is easy to buy multiples amd play against people who have theor own decks.

My biggest concern is that if you buy one game and it is desert and ice and you go and get a second game and it is also desert and ice then I would be really annoyed. I would not have as big an issue with this if I knew the terrain types that I would be getting in the box. I think that it would be fun to play the different terrain types but with my luck I would always get the same ones that I already have.

In case you are wondering the QR codes are values like 4.4, 6.24B, 6.22B and 3.34B. I guess this describes the specific combination of items included in each bag. In the case that FFG releases a link to view the contents trough the QR codes like those for the Arkham Horror cards you may be able to know how different is Tom's box compared with the one you get.

How do you even review this knowing most people will be getting different games? FFG with keyforge and now this feel like they are experimenting with the old GW route of trying to squeeze more money out of fewer customers.

I can't understand why a company who have built their business model around expansions have gone down this path.
They're even promoting on their website "trade your copy with a friend". Very odd for FFG.
I prefer the expansion option so that you can experience different locations, story lines etc by buying expansions. With this you have no idea what your getting. If you buy two or three copies, how do you know your not going to end up with the same locations, characters etc?
This would have to be an amazing game before I consider buying.
Just waiting for reviews and playthroughs now.

My other long time gripe here is once again no insert, just an empty box. When are FFG going to listen to the fans who purchase these games?
People are sick of getting an empty box.
FFG or FFI are madly running around at the moment trying to improve and change their digital LOTR the card game due to poor feedback, poor sales yet won't listen to any complaints regarding their tabletop games.
