I feel like anyone with any doubts or hesitation about Clive has to watch these Tekken Talks. The amount of passion that went into this character is special. He wasn’t rushed by any means.

As much as I wish it had been Tifa, I can't hate on how much love they put into Clive. I'm actually gonna buy FF16 because of this.

I dont really want to undervalue all the work that tekken team put into TEKKEN8 before this very moment as a whole, but this character is actually the best they've done in terms of details, animations, story. This character and stage is just WAY ahead of anything that TEKKEN8 had to offer before. Great job and I hope they will keep this level of quality for the future characters!

Dude, it looks like they really did their homework with Clive. I’m really proud with how much love and care they took with him, incorporating everything that made him… him. You got my money Bandai!

I’m a huge fan of the Final Fantasy series, and Final Fantasy XVI was absolutely incredible, so I’m naturally very excited to see Clive playable in Tekken 8!

It looks like they really put a lot of work and passion into how he fights in Tekken 8 as well, and I’m so happy to see them honoring Clive and Final Fantasy XVI with this collaboration!

Clive has: Devil Trigger, different weapons/styles in his moveset, Judgement Cut, had the DMC battle designer for FF16 and plays like a character action game, no Party members in his game, timing for his attacks, Rebellion’s Drive, magic that functions like Ebony and Ivory, became friends with a canine and helps him fight, has a similarly looking rival that has a long sword, canonically beats him in the first encounter, has a Devil Trigger, becomes a knight, and has blue in opposition to the protag’s red, and the protagonist’s name is 5 letters like Dante from DMC.

Other people: this is clearly Miguel or Noctis 2.0.

I find it weird that people complain about Clive, when some want Dante and he’d play like this. Kiryu also has style switching and people may not know, but Kiryu isn’t a trained martial artist but a self taught Brawler (the whole point of 0 is that Kiryu just saw people fighting and copied their move sets for Rush, Destroyer/Beast, and Dragon is him having a Revelation and combining them into one.) Kiryu also got Spy gadgets and some tech has him play like Spider-Man. Majima is the same and he’s even more ridiculous because he canonically has the ability to create Shadow Clones and in Pirate, he also uses a sword and a gun to combo in the air like Clive can. They’re all fantastical and all fit into Tekken, so the complaints just end up looking like Smash when FE characters get in and people are mad Dante or another ‘anime sword character’ didn’t get in. Also, Soul Calibur is dead after 6 didn’t meet quota and Okubo got fired and moved to Cygames, so Clive can’t be put into it (same goes for people wanting Tifa in DoA, since DoA’s next game is a dating sim and the gacha is the other focus, both being region locked to Asia and not localized.)

Lastly, Harada’s quote is there for all the other complaints (Harada likes Bleach, so maybe he’ll troll people and put Ichigo Kurosaki in to save Soul Society instead of whoever else people want for S2 or future Seasons.)

I know people are on their Clive hate train because it’s not Tifa, but I also hope this makes people interested in giving FF16 a shot.

I bought the game at launch but barely played it until it released again on PC. I was hater and wouldn’t give the game any time at all, and then as I played more and more, Clive literally turned into IMO the best modern FF character

Despite enjoying fighting games, I've never given Tekken a try. I've mostly stuck with ArcSys. But I love FFXVI, and they did such a phenomenal job adapting Clive. I bought the game right after his reveal. Can't wait! Can't say I've had a great first impression of the fanbase, though..

Ignore all of the people who are crying and hating that he was added instead of Tifa, they're actively ruining the fun and hype for everyone else just because they didn't get the character that they wanted.
I'm extremely excited to see Clive in FF16, him alone makes me want to upgrade to the deluxe edition to play him early.
Seeing him use all of the Eikon abilities, the new Phoenix Gate stage and most importantly, TORGAL!

So let me get this straight. Nothing is wrong with the cyborg ninja with a sword, the Aztec god that breathes fire, the boxing kangaroo, the devils and angel that shoot lasers, the TWO fighting bears, and the robot walking weapon, but the Final Fantasy character is what gets y’all tilted?

A lot of Tekken fans really don’t know the series they’re a fan of…
