DJI Phanton 3 Standard Video Format MP4 vs MOV

Is there any difference in quality or file size between .mov or .mp4 with DJI P3S? As far as we can tell, there is none. There is virtually no file size difference between them and as the video shows, there is no apparent quality difference. It appears to be the same codec, but in a choice of wrappers or containers. This is not what you would normally expect. Generally, mp4 is usually a more compressed format for the internet and .mov is QuickTime, which is generally a high quality, visually lossless codec. But in the case of DJI, there is no difference other than the container wrapper. As a general rule, larger files are higher quality, and in this case, the file sizes are essentially the same where recording in .mov or .mp4.

The clips have been edited down to 10 seconds, but in the first original source clip the .mov file was 21.5 seconds long and 65 MB, and the .mp4 file was 17.5 seconds and 52 MB. And other clips of the same duration were virtually the exact same MBs in size.

The codec inside appears to be Sony AVC, which is good quality.

I am sorry if I sound stupid ok but I just bought a DJI 3 4K and it shoots in MOV out of the box. I cannot figure out how to shoot in MP4. You can change this on the DJI cam right? Or are you converting the file after you shoot the vid?
I am having a lot of trouble just playing my vids on my PC because the vid skips about every 10-20 seconds while just trying to watch it and it will only play in VLC player as far as I can see...

Like I said. Im sorry if I am asking stupid questions but at least Im trying right? ha
Thank you for any help you can give me. :)
