It's good to see you on the other side of 2024 and it's a good opportunity to share my good intentions and plans. The bad news is that something needs to change. I've never been a 'gear review channel' and I don't want to be one. But this has been sneaking in over the last four years and I often found myself buying a module just to make a video and gain a few subscribers. So this needs to stop. Second, I now own so many gear that a brand new module doesn't make any difference anymore, and I'd rather use my 'old' stuff instead of trying to figure out something new that does the same thing. How can I possibly get different results from that?
The good news is that I'll focus on teaching this year. I may not be able to show off the latest gear (unless it's groundbreaking) but I can always try to teach you modular synthesis in a more general setting. I am sure I can provide a different view on things you already know or assumed you knew. It's very hard to teach 'creativity' because you need to be born with it. But my 1st grade drawings were also stickpeople. It was my dad who taught me how to see the world. I think I can teach you how to 'see voltage'. Creativity is often just the use of knowledge in unknown territory. It's fun. Or terrifying. I see no hurdles.
I have over 600 videos on my channel and it's impossible to watch them all. An educational series could point to videos you've never seen so this cuts both ways. I hope you could share a few subjects for a course. I want to make content for beginners, moderate and seasoned patchers and they will be posted as regular videos so no pay-wall or patreon.
Thanks for being here!
Robert.
PS.
The opening animations are a sptting image of my first official 2020 upload. It's my own artwork, but I turned the stills into 3D with Luma AI. So all material is cleared and no artists where exploited except me. So yes. I use AI and I will keep using it to have fun with my own art. BTW, it's also my own music, I made it in the DAW.
