The Mavrick 440 is Hero’s best motorcycle: Review | 4K | PowerDrift

The Hero Mavrick 440 is a pleasant surprise. There’s very little to complain about and it looks like Hero have a winner on their hands. The engine, the handling, the ride quality is fantastic and while we thought it would be a Hunter 350 competitor, it can go up against the Classic 350. Pricing starts at Rs. 1.99 lakh and goes up to Rs. 2.24 lakh. Worth it? Varun Painter goes to the Rann Of Kutch and gives you an answer.

Automobile industry is going in right direction. This is the era of partnerships. Hero partnership with Harley makes the market more interesting. This is well engineered product as technology transfer between two great companies in bringing a best product at a very sensible price. Hats off Hero for making this. Proud of indian motorcycle company.

This looks like a bike that would age really well 5-10 year down the line. Proportions are good and gives you retro bike feel without trying too hard. Additionally, this comes from Hero so you can except a wide service network that not only gives you peace of mind but makes sure that the ownership cost is minimal.
Seriously considering this bike. Best in segment price, power and looks.

Nice review Varun. A small suggestion regarding spec info. Please keep the font size bigger for the numbers and in white, you can grey out the title and keep it small. Like Tyre size, fuel capacity, ground clearance, etc, these can be in grey and smaller, the actual numbers should be in white and larger, also hold them for a couple more seconds. I'm not complaining, just suggesting. I'm sure everybody will appreciate.
Also please don't say commuter-ish, say practical. This one word puts people off and makes manufacturers give us impractical designs. People complain about the rear end, but it will be so useful in the rains and also we do find water gushing out of manholes often. Just imagine those tail tidy like designs. Many bikes have impractical designs these days. Very small front fenders for example, throwing all the crap onto our legs and the engine or even radiators. Most people use their bikes for commuting, so these things will bother them too, but during launches they bash the design.

Hero has mastered the ride quality and handling department with all their premium bikes. Hope engine refinement is next.

Finally a good honest review. People still have Hero Honda splendor bikes in their minds when they're going in for the overviews/reviews.

I think hero has done a fantastic job by launching the mavrick 440 . The design looks very nice. In fact compared to the Harley Davidson X 440 this bike looks proportionate from every angle. sure the mavrick misses out the fancy USD front forks and TFT display but apart from that it looks premium and sporty like a proper roadster should be. If i want to choose between the Harley and the hero my choice is the hero . At the end of the day both are similar bikes but the mavrick gives us a similar Big bike experience at a reasonable price .
I like the base version with spoke wheels, Wish Hero could have given tubeless spoke wheels as an option.😁. Can't wait to test ride this hero .

Was waiting all day to come back from office and watch this!
Looks like another reasonably good motorcycle in the 300 to 500 cc segment. I would still pick the Speed 400 as the roadster to have in this segment. But it is a good trend that with all the launches in this segment, none are objectively bad and it really boils down to the rider's preference and usage. Great time for a buyer!

The white one in the spoke wheels, very beautiful. Why Hero made it look bad from the rear portion?

I dont understand why do people cry for USD forks! I prefer good ride quality provided by conventional suspension over stiff USD.

Missed opportunity of calling the premium hero showrooms as Superhero

Wish they used the 'Maverick' name for their upcoming 450cc ADV to compete with the Himalayan, and have a naked 450 dirtbike style called the Xpulse?

Maybe Hero Yeti 450 ?

Very nice review. .... 👍. As my personal opinion, was expecting this one with a rear monoshock. could go better with the design flow of the whole bike.☺

Have seen many bikes in the recent times in the 300-500 segment, but the refinement what Honda is offering for CB350 is unbeatable.

How come X440 does not have vibration but the same engine here with slight remapping has so much vibration?

The Mavrick 440 looks almost like TVS Ronin.
The problem with both are the big turning radius and sloping fork angle. It's a nuisance while driving in the city traffic or while taking a U turn on a narrow street. I prefer slight upright motorcycles.
100 KMPH at 4000 RPM seems to be excellent but difficult to believe.

I have TVS Ronin. It has let me down on 2 counts. 1) Very big turning radius. 2) Just 60 KMPH at 4000 RPM. The front sprocket of 13T cannot be replaced by 14T because that touches the gear changing shaft. The rear sprocket is of 44 Teeth. I need a sprocket of 42T or less to make a difference. If you can help me on this issue, please do.

Thank you.
