I lost my closest childhood friend a few days before Christmas in 2021, taken far too soon. As we were both children of the ‘80s this beautiful piece of music will forever have a special meaning to me. I miss you mate.

It never, ever fails to take me back to being a child watching this for the first time. I was four years old when it was first shown, and I can remember it - and every subsequent year it was repeated - like yesterday as soon as the music starts. That's what the follow-up cartoon they made a few years back lacked - a delicate, haunting piece of music like this.

The snowman I can’t describe the feelings I get when I listen to this but it really touches my soul and takes me into a magical place back to my childhood the best song ever

This is a core film from my childhood, my grandmother had it on VHS. She would put it on when I would visit her, it was my only access to it. I was probably 3-4 the first time I saw it in the early 90s. I introduced it to my sons after remembering it a few years ago. Its a staple of Christmas time now. I hope they pass it onto their children.

I was just practicing the piano and this started coming out of my fingers. Before I knew it, I was 100% committed and improvising variations. I tracked it down afterwards. This is so beautiful. For something to comeback to me after thirty years and in the correct key? It must be brilliant.

Love this song so very very much.. just gorgeous. This Christmas I am going to introduce my grandkids (aged 2 and 4) to the full snowman movie. Along with the fabulous film adaptation of Thomas Dylan’s “a child’s Christmas in Wales.” Absolute treasures for Christmas viewing.
