It is commendable that the finder was a very good samaritan and directed the find towards national ownership in a museum rather than devise some means to keep or sell it. Still, it really should be standard practice to give the good samaritan something more than a 'Certificate of Appreciation'. For example, giving him/her a new set of top grade diving gear and an air compressor would be apt and represent well under 5% percent (maybe even just 1%) of the market value of such a rare find. Is it asking too much to share a small fraction of its value, such as a small percentage of what the museum would be willing to pay for such an acquisition rather than the museum/government offering nothing for the antiquity?

Well the size of the sword tells a lot that people were bigger and stronger in ancient times

This find is hardly surprising considering there were many thousands of Christian Soldiers in Palestine for 200 or so years. What is amazing that there were not more of such finds.

Oh man finds like these make you want to get back under the water. The owner of the sword must have been 3 ft wide and 6 ft tall.

It is an indication that the whole world is at unrest and the sword seeks its bearer to bring an end to this chaos for the sustainability of humanity and peace upon Earth. Once again the crusaders will rise as the saviours of the human race.
