I wish I could do this! My hands are too shaky for this artistic style.
For anyone who has been unsure of their ability to do art: I can’t draw, paint, sew, etc…so I didn’t think I could do art. Last year, I learned art, has hundreds of offshoots. I started w/ dollar tree crafts, and once I realized I could replicate the crafts easily, (this took 8-10 months of constant tries) I felt more confident trying other areas of art. Pyrography, tried, but you do need to have ability to draw. But, I tried! Then I went into pour overs, it wasn’t an area of true interest.
Resin was next! I was actually decent, to my surprise!
I live on the Gulf Coast, and have a million shells, that I didn’t know how to display them. I looked for inspiration, but I couldn’t find anything like I had envisioned in my mind. I’m someone who can visualize what I want, but I’m not the person who can bring their ideas into fruition. For about a month, I continued to search. Finally, I was tired of looking, so I stepped out from my comfort zone, and attempted to take my visual from an idea to reality! I now sell 12x12 shell art pictures! They range from $195-550!

Why do I share this extremely long comment? Bc I want others to know, there are hundreds to thousands of different areas, to be explored! So don’t give up if the first areas are flops. I guarantee you will find your niche if you keep trying! You’ll also realize, all the “failures” actually build upon each other, and they’ve led you to the area you blossom in!
I really needed to do something, about the depression I was unable to crawl out of. I had to stop teaching, way before I planned. I was diagnosed w/ a debilitating disease, and for a year, I couldn’t do anything. I had basically given up on myself, and my therapist kept telling me to “find a hobby.” I kept dismissing her advice bc I thought it was cliché garbage. Art has seriously been the most cathartic thing I’ve ever done. Who knows! I may try this, next. It may suck, but the least you can do for yourself, is try!!

Sorry for the extremely long comment, but hopefully it can help someone.
