Off topic, but the relationship you have with your parents seems so warm, and wholesome, and joyful! Watching you smile at your mum as she helped film your bedroom tour at the end reminded me of making home videos as a little kid, and made me want to be creative with my parents again as a young adult!

Changing you bedroom from your teenage bedroom to your young adult one is the single most liberating thing.

I did this last year. Got rid of the furniture that was with me through the most traumatic period of my life, and switched it up with furniture that was more the new me.

Ruby: cleans everything all the time
also Ruby: walks over the dusty floor multiple times
ugh that would have been the first thing I would have cleaned xD

The victorian themed content is so aesthetic and equistic . Also I got some wonderful ideas for my room 😀🙂😄

Ruby is so sweet, when she is talking about something that excites her. That room makeover is just perfect :D

I'm impressed with you for leaving the dust under the bed in the video - I bet a lot of YouTubers would have tried to cover that up to make themselves look more perfect than they really are. I bet there's a load under mine too!

I found my aesthetic! 'Victorian light academia' Nice balance of old and modern without being overbearing. I love it!! I could never make my room as light and airy as this though.

I really like how your room turned out I always thought your modern bed was a bit out of place knowing how much you love victorian items and antiques. I can see a bed skirt, antique rug, and bonnet in your room's future, they would really finish off the look🙂!

With that said, I adore seeing how supportive your parents are with your various interest. I must say, your dad did a great job on the bookcase, he is a true craftsman. Lastly, I love the Juliet balcony!

I don't know if I'm overstepping by writing this, but I was a casual viewer of Ruby's a couple years back and while I always enjoyed her content, I sometimes felt sad about how...awkward, alone and trapped in herself and her fears Ruby seemed. Eventually I stopped watching for a while. Today I suddenly got this video in my recommended and wow, the change in Ruby is just wonderful to see: she seems to be living up to her full potential; still special and honest about her non-mainstream tastes, but oh so vibrant, confident and happy. I'm so beyond glad to see this!

I will be 28th years old on this 12th August. I have never has my own bedroom or even space and still live with my parents. I miss my moments living outside during study and working. I miss to have my own freedom and create creativity. I will moved out when pandemic is over or next year since someone need to accompany my old parents. Sometimes, being adult mean you need to make difficult decision

I actually did the same thing this summer! I just spent the last two months revamping my two rooms and downsizing from a double to a twin! One of the reasons was also to allow for more floor space so I can start doing yoga again! 😃! Granted, for me, I am 51 and moved back home to my mom’s to help care for her. It’s interesting how at such very different stages of our lives we are doing similar things!

"It has been screwed into the wall as you can see. So it's not going to fall on me, which is very useful." - Literally me overexplaining and justifying every single life choice I make 😅

I’ve been feeling nostalgic recently about a certain period of time in my younger years. Watching your videos tends to bring me back to those days, and I’m not sure why exactly. Thank you for sprinkling a bit of magic into my life❤️🍂

Your room looks fantastic! You remind me of myself when I was your age. I had graduated from college and was working full time. I took part of my paychecks and bought a new 9x12' rug, new curtains and bedspread by Laura Ashley, new lamp shades of white lace, and our best friend, who was a carpenter, built me a bookshelf to house my books, including my new 21 volume Dickens set by Oxford University. I still have it, all these decades later, and still cherish the evening my future husband and I filled up my shelves with books! Enjoy!

I have never in my life seen a person go from a double bed to a single willingly... it does make your room bigger though!
