For me it's date magnifiers. Absolute dealbreaker on a watch.

I don't understand why the second hands for Casio or Citizen's quartz watches hit the markers perfectly, but some Tag Heuers and Tissots that I've owned miss the markers and are more expensive lol

I’m with you on the hands that missed the markers. I mean, is it that hard for watch brands to get it aligned perfectly?

I havent seen a skeleton watch yet that I liked. Reading time off them takes a second longer, and most of the time they end up looking very technical and niche and hard to wear with super casual outfits.

A no-date Sub is just clean and symmetrical.

The Citizen Tsuyosa crown is a chore to wind I feel you

Whether the second hand hits the mark only matters on a quartz watch.

For me it's when such an amazing automatic watch with a complicated movement doesn't come with a see-through back! Who wouldn't wanna see such an amazing watch work?!

Day date everyday.
No day and no date for special occasion. Looks classier.

*the "water resistant" on Casio dials always piss me off*

A mechanical watch isn't supposed to hit second markers perfectly, because it sweeps across them, if at a noticable stutter. Only hand alignment that matters on a mechanical watch is hour and minute. If there's a date complication that also has to be calibrated to change on or very very close to midnight. The second basically spins of it's own accord. in hacking movements you can adjust the second hand indirectly. But it's still got a mind of it's own. Totally different in battery or solar powered watches.

For me, I will never buy a watch where the minute hand doesn’t touch the minute track. That’s probably my #1 pet peeve.

I love a date, there are days where i use that feature more than the time. Frame it. If the wheel is color matched to the dial, thats fine, but even then it would look better frames imo

All four of my timex’s (quartz) have misaligned second hands. It doesn’t bother me too much but I definitely notice it 😅
MrReality
the hands that don’t hit the markers 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Totally agree 👍 One of my pet hates is the second hand not hitting the marker's. ⌚

i agree on all the points to some degree, like if the text isn't there it sometimes feel weird and flat, of course to much is to much. i use the date regularly and i like it on most watches, unless it's a dress/dressy watch
yahlilevi
All great ones that you mentioned here. For me personally, I don't like watches that have their lugs at a permanent angle. I like my watches to be able to sit flat if I take them off

Finally somebody has said it that unnecessary text on watches is sooo off putting specially the rolex
