Renault scenic 1.6 ( refitting the cylinder head ) part 3

hi in this video I take the cylinder head and fit it back onto the car, it was raining the whole time so I just got on with the job and didn't film so much. I ended up with the manifolds back on and the timing pins in place ready for the timing belt and water pump tomorrow.

I’m busy with the same motor and was wondering about the reciting the top cam cover. Is there a special way the carrier bearing in the cover needs to sit before tightening everything down?

Hello, just want to know if you put the cylinder head nsck on while the pistons were locked in tdc ? Busy with the same job and im unsure if i should move them a bit down or leave it tdc.

Hey Matt, I need help and I wish you could help me. I got the same car with the same engine, the problem is that the engine is leaking oil in the rocker cover gasket and I don't know if this engine got a gasket for the rocker cover or I have to put motor silicone instead of it. I got another doubt; I think that I'll probably have to change the gaskets of the intake manifold too. My last dout is that I don't know why you change the thermostat, do I need to do it for changing the gasket rocker cover?. I wish you could help me, thanks! I just want to change the gasket.

Do i have to change the camshaft bearings for the k4m engine like the crankshaft ? Or are the bearings solid types in the valve cover and cylinder block ? in which case the camshaft bearings cannot be replaced.

Cool I’d change the timing belt for engine like this but when I’m starting a car the bottom pulls come off could you explain this to me plz

Hi Matt, quick question hope you don't mind....if the plastic dipstick snapped inside the plastic dipstick tube on this particular Renault engine, can you just remove those two small bolts that hold it near the top to the cylinder head and pull out the dipstick tube to retrieve the broken end of the dipstick? Hope that makes sense.
