What do you do with the water in the test tubes after you are done? Do you pour them down the drain or do you have to dispose of them somewhere? I got the kit and I'm afraid to dispose of it wrong.

You did the nitrate test wrong. You need to shake the test tube for 1 minute, not 30 seconds. This can wildly affect the results.
