That part where you are sawing out floor i don't have that type of saw I an oscillating saw would that work fine or should I go get one?

My bedroom floor just collapsed by the vent and we have no idea how to fix it. There is now a significant hole. We have a mouse problem and we are worried that the hole will make the problem even worse. My dad’s solution is to just lay plywood over the hole and hope it doesn’t get worse.😢
