She & Her Exhibit Installation Time Lapse – National Palace Museum, Taipei

The exhibit She & Her features 71 pieces of art from the museum collection that are divided into two categories: “Norms of Female Beauty” and “Ladies of Artistic Talent”. The National Palace Museum hopes that this exhibit encourages visitors to not only appreciate the artistic beauty of these pieces of art but also to spark conversations about women’s rights in the 21st century.

Though most of traditional Chinese society was ruled by men there were a number of women who broke gender norms and created magnificent pieces of art. The National Palace Museum is honored to have a number of works in its collection from various dynasties that showcase the diverse talents of Chinese women throughout history.
