In Australia, it's illegal to declaw a cat. Unless they have an infected claw that can't be saved. & then *ONLY* the infected claw may be removed & *NOTHING ELSE!*

Don't give up! This is so important and isn't said enough. Working through unwanted behaviors is part of bonding with them. It can be hard but it's so worth it when you get to the other side 😻

We took in 3 cats that neighbors left out over the winter and one tossed out in the winter. One we have had for 8 months and was fine started acting up found out through trial that it's anxiety. He is now working on getting re introduced to the others. They were abused by the kids and maybe more things and we have worked with them all. After 10 months the one guy finally said ok lady let's cuddle. My foot was asleep but I did not move that baby lol. Cried because finally (pretty surenhis abuser was a women). He has greeted me every day this week when I come home from work.

I'm a happy mom of a 7 year old siamese female saved from the car when she was 3 weeks old. I never thought of doing any of these things to her or any other cat. I love my flyffy baby and she loves ne so much ❤

For anyone saying “BUT -“ for declawing, think of it like cutting off a finger. You obviously can’t just cut off someone’s finger for no reason, but if there’s some sort of injury or infection that makes amputation necessary that’s completely different. But the general advice is still “hey don’t go around cutting people’s fingers off” 😂

Unfortunately, my grandmother had her dilute calico declawed. I gave her a bit of a hard time about it when I found out.

When my grandmother passed away a month ago, I took her in because she knew me, and I knew the loss of her owner would be tough. She is happy again finally and I think she has accepted me. She isn't sleeping with me just yet, but she is very affectionate with an occasional bit of cattitude.

I declawed my first cat in the early 2000’s they recommended it and I definitely regret doing that. Thank you for keeping us informed on the behaviors of our cats 🐈 😍

When I first heard about declawing cats I was shocked, I couldn’t believe it’s legal in the US. How can you say you love your cat and yet rob them of their ability to climb, to scratch, of showing their discomfort in certain situations?
Yes, you may get scratched by your cat occasionally, they’re animals with their own free will, and usually they show you clearly what they want without using their claws or teeth.
How would humans feel if you tore out their finger- and toenails?
