We're not too far off, from LPL blowing gently on a lock to open it 😂

I’m always glad when you pick it twice to prove it wasn’t a fluke. And as a bonus, it adds another 10 seconds to the video… 😂😂😂

Every LPL video confirms what my dad said many years ago, he shared someone else's quote when he told me, "Locks only exist to keep honest people honest."

He opened this lock faster than we could write the first comment under his video.

I guess the definition of "high security" is anything that doesn't allow standard picking tools into the keyhole to pick it open. The Covert Instruments tool is fancy and good for the professional picker to have in their toolbox but a Bic pen can work too.

Maybe "high security" does not mean "high pick resistance" but "the makers of this lock were high when designing it".

Edit: I posted a second comment so you can see it was not a fluke.

A friend of mine has a set of cheap tubular picks, had no clue what they were, found them helping a neighbor clean out their shed. When I showed how easy they are to use he was blown away and instantly glad he had them because we started maintaining rental properties for another friend and needed to fix the coin operated washers and dryers in a couple of the complexes.
We saved about $300 in new locks overall and just made new keys all thanks to LPL.

Love the mood you put in your videos, always a pleasure to watch.

Picking it requires the modification of a specialized tool, a meaningful deterrent in itself.

It would be really cool for LPL to do a tutorial on how to pick a tubular lock with a basic lockpick set

After picking it, he can lock the pick and use it to cut a key on a cutter that costs less than conventional key cutters. I do this for people a lot, and they are surprised how “secure” their tubular lock really is! 🤣

Love this channel, but it always reminds me that NONE of my stuff is safe in my home or in my truck or in my storage unit. I feel very vulnerable after watching each episode and wish there were locks available that would give me more piece of mind.

After watching you I realise locks are only there to keep me out🤣

Back in the very early 1980's I worked as an automobile re-possessor in New York State. We would all practice lock picking all the time, along with other techniques of entry and operation of cars without keys, and also key cutting on site with nipper and code books, lock pulling and core replacement, and so on.

My boss was always looking into various new methods, and one day he handed me a cylinder lock pick prototype a friend had made. It was hand machined, with grooves for the pins. There was a "pick" in each pin slot which could be slid up and down. Since it was a prototype, the inventor had not yet perfected it, and so these pick-slides were held in place with a rubber band that was wrapped around the slides. So the picker had to manually manipulate the slides as they were applying turning motion to tension the core.

Was this about the time these cylinder picking tools were invented? Or could this have been an earlier, later, or concurrent additional example of someone trying to invent one of these, to the type that is shown and used today?

I'd love to see a lock that you can't pick. I know you've done a video about that before, but it's been a while. BTW, I absolutely love your content and since I own an escape room and sometimes have a lock that either customers changed the combination on or some other failure that requires me to break into a lock, your channel is my go-to every time I have to do that. One thing that stands out is the gun safe that you opened with a plastic straw. I have that same safe in one of our escape rooms and used that method on it! It really saved the day!

Do you have a video detailing how to open a tubular lock using more traditional lock picking tools? I would be very interested to see that as well! Keep up the great content!

Man, I came to give a like to your video just for the thumbnail alone - speaks it all! 😂❤

I've learned more on this channel than I ever did in prison. Thanks!

Always a good morning when I wake up to a cry-laugh emoji on the newest LPL thumbnail.

Damn.... If this guy was discussing good locks, instead of 1526 videos, his channel would have 10 or less.

Incredible.
