I did that and it still updated automatically.
Just moments ago, while browsing, it loaded up its page and said that it updated to a new version. I checked my preferences and saw that the option is unchecked.

Even than it updates, just today I went to work and left my pc on and when I came back it was on utorrents page saying, what`s new on utorrent! I did not work, maybe you know more than me about this and can help out? is there another way to disable it? in the system files somewhere? or installing an older version?

Yeah this doesn't work, this many years later and it's still a problem. I installed version 3.5.4 and everything was working great then I'd leave it running to seed and go have dinner come back in 2 hours and the title bar of uTorrent now says 3.5.5, it happened 3 fucking times, absolute bullshit.
