Cool video! I'm surprised that WINS is still there: I thought MS had decided to pull the plug on that service back with Win2003...
Regarding DNS, there is also a HOSTS file that all machines have that PCs check for name resolution. When you query a name, the computer first checks that file (in sytem32/drivers/etc), then it goes to your local DNS server if you have one, then it goes to the root servers as you mention, etc.. If I am not mistaken, the Hosts file is the legacy of the original text file that ARPANET had back in the 80s when there were very few computers connected to one another.

How about a core install including defender for cloud and defender. I'd imagine that's a pretty common install these days. And put it on hyper v and use arc as a cheaper demo.

Is there a particular reason why Microsoft does not allow enrolling servers in Intune, especially when they play the role of rd session hosts ?

Hey Andy, can you please help with the GPO? Let's say I'm the super administrator for my Windows server, where I can edit and manage all OUs. I have a junior IT guy with administrator permissions. I want to ensure he can only make changes to certain things like installing and downloading software. How can I prevent him from editing OUs on the server? Please help and create a video if you can

couldn't I just add a server and use a different ip address for dhcp? instead of using the DC?

the key to active directory that 99% of all instructors ignore, You apply group poliicies to OUs ...you cant apply group policy to containers....containers is just a default folder made by the the server you dont use them...the entire point of active directory is to apply group policies to users and computer in OUs

This looks too complicated and bloated. I've been using Ubuntu Server for the past five years. Although it's all command line, I'm pretty savvy with it. I was going to install this on an old laptop that only has 4gb of RAM.
