The jail management system that my employer used ran on an Oracle database platform for more than a decade with very little downtime. The only reason we changed systems was because the vendor was bought by another company that planned to sunset the software.

I've also heard they want to make some big moves with AI, in a very 1984 (the novel) sort of way. I am not about that in the slightest, but governments might take them up on their Big Brother surveillance proposals. 😨

Whenever I'm at work and a page won't load it will have an error message and in the corner it says "powered by Oracle" so I'll say it's crap 😅
