We lived in Kapil era. .I played at clubs and university level. Know cricket not just by watching but also by playing. Apparently no other bowler until now, that India has produced and in may ways even at world level come close to Kapildev.
There were 4 great contemporaries in 80s and early 90s - Kapil, Imran Khan, Richard Hadlee and Ian Bottham. These 4 guys were a team inside a team. They could single handedly turn the match around. Miss those glorious cricketing days...Lucky to have watched them live

A true Years & decades rolled, but still India is not able to find a complete Alrounder like Kapil Dev.

Best cricketer India ever produced and the reason for converting cricket in India to religion rather than sports as well as reason for having fast bowler battery in following years for India like Zahir, Irfan, Shreenath, Bumrah etc. who all got motivated by Kapil’s winning and never die attitude. Imagine this guy carried the whole burden of Indian bowling on dry Indian pitches and produced this result! His statistics don’t speak entirely of his potential and contributions. The strong pillar of WC victory in 1983. I was lucky to see his fantastic outs wingers, hard hitting batting and fielding skills.
