Mid-season trades are a blessing if you bring in impact players. But a curse if you bring in interchangable parts that destroys the synergy that you already had. I knew the Mets will struggle when they make a bunch of trades for average veterans that do the exact same things the current roster already do well and on a winning streak. What do they bring to the table besides taking playing time away from other players? Nothing. The Mets do this every year. Start slow, get hot, management make dumb trades, and the Mets struggle the rest of the year.

I'm a Yankees fan, so obviously I don't watch much oakland, but Joe Boyle's stuff kinda looked nasty. Maybe they could transition him to a bullpen role, especially him throwing 100 and having a pretty good slider. I wonder what his baseball savant page looks like
