Anna Akhmatova's Reqiuem

This video is about Anna Akhmatova's Russian Modernist cycle poem Requiem, which represents the experiences of the women (including Akhmatova herself) waiting outside Kresty prison hoping to talk with their loved ones inside during the 1930s. This powerful, multi-part poem is a condemnation of Stalinist political repression, developed through the experiences of Akhmatova and these other women.
