Dr. Yingcui Li, Ph.D. is a two-time ANRF Grant Recipient, currently a full-time professor at the University of hartford, who was funded from 2011 to 2013, conducting paramount research on osteoarthritis. Her project focused on the simple sugar molecule, hyaluronan, and its presence in the synovial joint fluid, the absence of which, she discovered, can bring about the onset of osteoarthritis.

Dr. Li further talks about how the mouse model shows the genetic mechanism and relationship between hyaluronan and osteoarthritis in correlation with her studies.

Stay tuned in 2 weeks for the conclusion of her interview where she goes into even more depth about the future of osteoarthritis as it relates to her research!
