No. 10 Tennessee football drilled Vanderbilt 56-0 Saturday while four other top 10 teams in the College Football Playoff rankings faltered.

No. 2 Ohio State, No. 5 LSU, No. 8 Clemson and No. 9 Oregon lost in their regular-season finale. It puts the Vols in prime position to land a bid to a New Year's Six bowl − the Sugar Bowl, Orange Bowl or Cotton Bowl − which will be announced on Dec. 4.

Tennessee (10-2, 6-2 SEC) rolled to its first 10-win regular season since 2003. That year the Vols lost to Clemson in the Peach Bowl to finish 10-3.

This team coasted past rival Vanderbilt (5-7, 2-6) despite a shorthanded lineup in its first game without Heisman Trophy candidate Hendon Hooker.
