✨ A B O U T M E
👋 Hi! A few of you are new here so I thought I'd introduce myself ☺️

I'm Lisa (hehe). I'm in my early 30s, though I'm often told I look like I'm in my young 20s (and I never get sick of hearing this 😂).

I started tutoring English when I was 19, just after high school. Who knew that I'd still be in the tutoring business TWELVE+ years later? **mind blown**

Tutoring was SO incredibly rewarding and fulfilling that I moved into it full-time when I was 24. I fell in love with tutoring so much that I ended up quitting my career as a pharmacist after only 11 months on the job. Skip ahead to 3 months later, I was fully booked out and was already rejecting new students who had been referred to me.

I felt so bad for saying 'no' that I ended up hiring my first tutor. Within 6 months, my team had grown to 5 tutors, and within a couple of years, I had 50+ tutors on my team!

It's been a rollercoaster of a journey. I've been awarded Anthill 30under30, Victorian Younger Achievers Finalist, spoken at TEDx, and been blessed with so much more.

Not going to lie, business is HARD. That's why I want to share my learnings and experiences with you, because I wish I had a tutor mentor who could accelerate my path to success, rather than struggling through all the mistakes I made during my journey. Lisa's Study Guides, my tuition and study guide business has made 1 million+ over the last 2 years, and I've just started my second business, Tutorboss, helping tutoring business owners build and scale their businesses.

I have watched almost all of your videos, Lisa. All of your videos are indeed very insightful and inspirational to say the least. How do I manage parents' expectations? Since my specialty is in grooming very very weak students, I find it hard sometimes to quickly groom them up to the expected standards. Sometimes, 4-5 months of intensive tutoring are still not sufficient. Some of the students are very very lacking in motivation, and that you cannot fix overnight, I have imparted this message to the parents. My experience as a full-time tutor is just 1 year, I am still new in this line of business. Although I enjoy grooming weak students and see them soar, I find it frustrating when a few of them are just "incorrigible". It takes time, I know but it is hard to explain this to those parents who are also lacking in parenting skills. It takes time to build relationships with these kinds of students with only 12 hours spent with them in a month. I know I have to try harder but how I wish the parents will take more of a pivotal role in motivating their own children.

I am starting to get fully booked out, although I am ready to begin outsourcing my new leads. How can I ensure that my outsourced tutors can do a good job as well? Should I sit down with them and have set procedures they can follow, such as what to ask the student, their goals etc.

Do you do 1-2-1 private mentoring with tutors who want to scale their business?

Nice video
I take group classes?
Make video how to handle weak student and very fast learner I the same class as we don't have time to take separate class or parents don't want to pay for one on one session which is expensive

And whole day parents keep calling for different questions or new parents call any time of day . Will it be ok to fix calling hrs.Because if they can't call immediately, they Google other tutor in the mean time and may decide to take
other tutor and even for get to call me later.
Taking calls from parents whole day has destroyed my quality time with myself
