I'm an agnostic. I'm also an atheist. It's pretty clear that a lot of people aren't aware that a person can be both. Do I know for certain whether or not deities or the supernatural exist? No, thus I'm agnostic. Does that lack of knowledge change the fact that there is no evidence supporting the existence of such things? No, thus I reject the notion of deities and the supernatural until such evidence presents itself. Therefore I am an atheist. Why is that such a difficult thing for some so-called agnostics to understand?

Agnosticism may be the most misunderstood word in the English language.

you have no idea how stupid I felt reading this comment. I felt the arrogance and lack of knowledge and reasoning with every word.

Most agnostics I've met don't realize they're also atheists, because they chose the title agnostic to separate themselves from Christians and atheists without realizing that agnosticism isn't mutually exclusive from religion or lack thereof. It's annoying when they use their title of agnostic to act as if they're smarter than both groups

Been trying the vegan life, I feel great. I always felt bad for eating meat, but it was like a drug that I couldn't resist. However, I was wrong. I was able to stop eating meat pretty easily.

+wyzguys I would like your opinion on this problem that I see. I contend that as soon as we are born we start to get programed to believe that the impossible is possible. Limericks, poems, songs and stories of Santa, easter bunnies, tooth fairies, talking animals and all the other stories that enforce the idea that the impossible is possible. Then one grows a little and one realizes that these stories have an effect on reality how well Santa comes with gifts, tooth fairies with money and the easter bunny candy ect ect.... No an naive and impressionable mind is convinced that the impossible is not only possible but most likely to be a fact. Then another step on the growth ladder occurs and this young mind is bombarded with cartoons, fantasy, books with talking animals and movies now this mind is ready to go to school and churches and further the programming of beliefs of the impossible to be possible. Now the mind is easily molded to believe in Gods, angels, demons, talking snakes, humans surviving fishes swallowing them all kinds of impossibilities are allowed in the mind to the point that reality seems to be impossible that the scientific method and laws seem improbable because it doesn't carry the magic of the impossible. At this point we have the perfect citizens ready to believe the news, the politics of lies the manipulation of the state and flag not only in a patriotic manner but in a religious manner wwere the person is willing to die for a flag and fake ideals programmed in to them. Does that sound possible? familiar? or too conspiratorial? I'm intrested in what you got to say.

let's just debunk the god myth once and for all:
God is supposedly omniscient, he knows everything from past, present and future.
He supposedly created us to have free will. But what is the point with free will if god already knows everything that will ever happen to you from past, present and future?
There either is no free will, or there is no god. they just can't coexist!

I always wondered why do Christians usually get annoyed/frustrated when they find out the person next to them is an athiest? Yet when its vice versa athiests dont go "OMG WHAT YOU'RE A CHRSITAN!?!?! GET OUT".

How many times this same issue has been discussed?

I was under the belief for many years that agnosticism was the middle ground between atheism and theism.  I identified as such.  However, during my late teen years I put some major thought into my beliefs and realized that I had been an atheist all along.  I think a lot of people who don't understand that atheism isn't the bold declaration that God does not exist shy away from the term because people think it is closed minded.  However, it is anything but.

Your channel opens up a lot of great discussions, most of which the whole world should be having. Great topics! I thoroughly enjoy your videos.

I think it's really nice and respectful of you to "go after" everyone in a sense it shows how not one side is clear cut in one way of thought. I respect and thank you for doing a multitude of these kinds of videos.

Mr. +TheVeganAtheist, could you do a video about the ethical concerns surrounding abortion? It would be very interesting to see you bring up arguments (from both sides of the table) and comment on them.

I will never understand peoples' obsession with labels. In today's age it is becoming superfluous.

Thomas Huxley, who it is claimed originally coined the term agnostic in 1868, asserted that he was not an atheist but rather, an agnostic.

'When I reached intellectual maturity, and began to ask myself whether I was an atheist, a theist, or a pantheist; a materialist or an idealist; a Christian or a freethinker, I found that the more I learned and reflected, the less ready was the answer; until at last I came to the conclusion that I had neither art nor part with any of these denominations... So I took thought, and invented what I conceived to be the appropriate title of "agnostic". 'Agnosticism' (published February 1889).

From this it's clear that Huxley defined his word as an antidote to amongst other things, atheism, which he rejected. Therefore as the original, and it's fair to say probably still the most popular definition of agnosticism, does this not qualify it as the correct definition?

I think so, which is why I identify myself as simply agnostic and reject the assertion that I cant. To disagree would be to argue against the original definition of the word. You're arguing that black is white.
