The customer service culture here has led to a lot of people taking that "the customer is always right" (similar to "the customer is always king") to the extreme. I could tell you all kinds of stories working in customer service in many different industries of people who feel so entitled to things that they stoop to treating the people that are helping them like dirt. In the last job I had in a true customer service call center, I would spend 45 minutes or more on the phone being berated by someone because I couldn't answer their questions the way they expected or wanted. It's true that there is a lot of good customer service out there and there is a lot of bad customer service as well. The same goes for the customers as well.
