My favourite detail on Heartsbane is that the center ridge on the handle forms an arrow, with the pommel resembling an arrow's fletching, with the cross guard taking the appearance of a bow. it makes it look like the sword is firing an arrow down the blade and is a great motif for a Huntsman noble family.

Fun Fact: both Blackfyre and Dark Sister are designed by Peter Johnsson, the sword smith who has designed many of the Albion Swords. It’s no wonder they are such beautiful and functional pieces

Dark Sister is by far my favourite fantasy sword design. The dragon details are so well integrated without compromising the sword's practicality. Everytime I look at it I'm like *chef's kiss*

I'm terribly surprised that you didn't include "Dawn" on this list, especially since you showed pictures of Ned's sword from his flashback which is where we see Dawn in the show. It would also be another cool example where you could've compared the show's version of the sword vs the book's interpretation. This was the only sword mentioned in the books that was just as good as Valyrian steel without being made from it as it was basically a meteorite sword.

You guys need a rubric with more criteria than just a flat 1-10 rating. Blade profile, blade weight, crossguard, handle, pommel, overall utility, and overall aesthetic could each be rated 1-5 and we'd get a much more accurate understanding.

I say the design for Ice is on point for the Starks. It's very "no nonsence", but still has some interesting touches and fits with it being an executioner's sword inspired directly by museum pieces.
A lot of the pictures don't show it but the pattern of the steel on it is beautiful and the more book accurate versions are just works of art while still being essentially the same as the show one.

What's this? I'm actually being notified on time and not hours later!?!?

As a person with only a mild interest in historically accurate swords I want to point out that when you showed Blackfyre even I said to myself “huh, that’s a type 18 blade”
\thanks for the education you’ve left me with.

Needle is not a sidesword, it's a smallsword, which were very deadly.

Dark Sister and Blackfyre was designed by renowned Swedish swordsmith Peter Johnsson, he knows his stuff ❤

I absolutely loved Blackfire as soon as it hit the screen. The tapering, pattern, and the ridges made it just so impressive as a sword design.

About the GOT's universe, you guys forgot to mention the Arakhs, the half-sword half-scythe weapons of the Dothraki.

I'm quite enjoying these sword evaluation videos. I can't wait to see what's coming up, I just wish I had suggestions that weren't already in place

Dude, the Jacaerys sword was definitely the best! So good you tossed that in at the end.

Needle isn't a sidesword, it's more like a smallsword. I'd also say that in terms of practicality, for an assassin it's far more concealable and usable in tight spaces than any of the other ones.

Backfyre is my absolute favourite sword in the thrones universe, dark sister is a close second. Also the pic of dark sister is of a replica the actual hero replica has a Dimond shaped handle

Regarding Oathkeeper, those have to be lions carved in the handle. The lannisters made it.
