I've had good success so far with CJ Archer too, though I'm reading their Glass Library series this month. Not 5-star amazing, but all reliably fun and easy to read even when you're on the verge of slumping. I'll have to try more of their series.

Interesting that The Bandit Queens mentions wood alcohol. Weird how things like that pop up at the same time. The DNFs ahhh! I knew they were coming but it is still hard. Glad you ended on a good note. <3

Interesting. I have a different CJ Archer book on my library TBR sometime. Their books seem like a mix of settings/genres.

i agree with how frustrating and uncomfortable it was that the women in the bandit queens didn’t support the actions of each other when they were clearly in need of help and emotional support! the reading slump is real 😅 and it’s hard when you’re reading books you’re not particularly excited to pick up!! 40 year age difference 😟 no thank you… 😂

Book slumps are terrible! One thing you could try later on is when you are back in a reading mood you could try and see if the other 2 suggestions you had originally picked end up slapping!
