You need a center support going down the center the whole way on the front and back sides going in the direction of the tire to force the weight into the ground. Without those supports too much stress is applied to the lumber.

I recommend sizing in 3.5" increments; 14" sq or 17.5" sq. Make the top layer a solid layer. Also, make them 6" tall that can also sit on a 6" base. Now you have two heights.

Dont mark your wood like that if you really want it to he 16 inches. The blade kerf takes 1/8 off. This is with any saw.

Those are used to allow the vehicle's weight to rest naturally on the suspension when repairing welding and fitting body panels.
For everything else just use jack stands.

Half the time I'm working at the wheel area so jack stands are better. Takes up less space and easier to get around. Plus, to get clearance, you would have to jack the car up pretty high.

I feel comfortable working under and only under 12 ton jack stands for a lighter car and if you know the price of 12 ton jack stands this is a way cheaper and safe option
