I've heard stories of older hog farmers feeding charcoal as a "de-wormer" although I don't know if there is any studies on efficacy. I think it was oak specifically, not sure of variety.

I doubt it. The pigs have already distributed it. Easy to make or a shortcut is t it Red Oak lump charcoal . You then crush it up finer(not to a powder) and put it in your chicken coop over the winter. They will inoculate it.
