As a Spurs fan, I believe in how much we’ve improved and the new style, but I am warry about how quickly everyone is rating us so highly. That United win could have gone either way early on, a bit of survivorship bias there. Excited for the season but reluctant to put us into a top 4 race so early given how far off it we were last year

That cheeky Brighton Chelsea swap without saying anything

After listening to the recent JAFFN I'm fully convinced Ainsworth and Ange are winning their respective leagues.

I think 4th for Tottenham is our ceiling this season. Would be a great foundation to move forward. I’ll say most fans just want to see great football week in week out. Could care less where we finish this season.

Going through this shows just how competitive the 2-10 section of the PL is going to be this season

I feel like you’ve massively overthought this 🤣 Look forward to your reaction at the end of the season

We are one CB injury away from an Eric Dier era. For that reason tottenham at 5th or 6th seems more likely. Hopefully I'm wrong COYS

Personally, i feel like you used the logic of “they’ll have players returning from injury” for Manchester United but not for Chelsea. Chelsea are missing Reece James, Badieshille, Fofana, Lavia, Broja, and arguably their most important player, Nkunku who is supposed to be the secondary goal scorer

We need a ripple effect at some point on the fixture list and how much of an affect it has on the start, the finish and the outcomes of the premier league table

So many quality teams in the premier league. Promising for the season ahead.

Man U are in freefall, don't see where the cavalry is coming from - so much pressure on a young kid (Hojlund). Chelsea similar. Suspect that Brighton will finish in the top 5, they're just so well settled. Agree that Tottenham are looking very good.

Ha - writing this in real time - you ended up with what looks like a very good prediction.

As a spurs fan James it's a breathe of fresh air to hear an unbiased view of our club so I love watching your content. Also i'm from ACTON so I have developed a real soft spot for you. I assume your a west london lad what with you being QPR ( COME ON YOU SUPAAAH HOOOOPSAH! ) and guessing by your accent. Are you Kensington or White city? I digress, keep up the great content my man. Hit the likes people.

Come on Jimbo, you're fully coys now 🤍😂👌

I honestly believe our starting 11 is so strong. The back four are technically brilliant and all top athletes, the midfeild is stacked with talent, and although people thought the Kane factor was a serious issue, we've fixed basically every major problem we had for the last 3 seasons and still have a golden boot winner available as our centre forward.

I really believe the way we now play suits the squad we now have and the only thing that could kill us is a couple big injuries before January.

Liverpool fan here. I've been so impressed with Spurs but it does feel like they are one injury away from falling away. Especially if Bissouma gets injured, but Maddison tends to get injured as well.

Newcastle fan. I’d agree with 9th. It was my prediction before the start of the season because Europe will cripple us early on with still so few CL level players. We’ll get tired and get injuries. I’d take 9th, some great European nights in St James’s and a cup run. It’s a hell of a lot better than we’ve had in a long time

Lovely hat, James. Decent video too. Pains me to admit it but you’re probably right about Newcastle in 9th. Any higher than that with CL football will be another good season

As an Everton fan, I think we will just survive again. So far are in the top 5 for big chances created but didn’t have a quality striker to put them away. Now that Beto has arrived he looks like he could finally be our lukaku replacement 6 years on and he is already a fan favourite

It will be very interesting to see Newcastle's final position. Before the season began, a lot of pundits had us finishing 8th or 9th. Then the opener against Aston Villa, and a lot of people thought we were the real deal and 8th or 9th was way too low. Then, the next three games humbled us as we faced problems like a lack of spirit, naivety and lack of a clear game plan respectively. Unless Howe figures out how to integrate the newer players and the older players regain form, it could end up being a very long season for us.

Still feel like people are sleeping a bit on Newcastle, theyve had very difficult fixtures to start. I understand burnout with UCL being a concern but they were also clear of several teams like Villa Brighton Chelsea last year.

I really believe in Brighton, except for one thing. They drop a lot of points where you wouldnt expect them to. If you go back and look at them last season, games like the Everton one where surprisingly common. They tend to show up in big games, which is when anyone cares to pay them any attention. But saw them drop too many points they shouldnt last year, given how good they are. The loss to West Hame felt like more of that, but tbf West Ham actually look decent so far so maybe a harsh assessment.

I sincerely think Chelsea have a high ceiling but looking at them so far they are off it and will take some time to figure out. Granted there is plenty of time for them to do it but seeing them ahead of Newcastle seems kind of absurd to me

Dont know if theres ever been such a competitive looking league as this season
